Market review of the Shanghai Gold Exchange in November 2003
With 20 trading days in November, the Shanghai Gold Exchange witnessed a total trading volume of RMB 2.667 billion yuan, 20.71 percent higher than last month. Gold trading reached 23,468 kilograms, valued at 2.44 billion yuan, both touching monthly record high since the SGE started business. And the daily trading volume of gold was 1,173.40 kilograms. 1,094 kilograms of platinum were traded, valued at 0.228 billion yuan, 57.58 percent higher than last month, with a daily volume of 54.70 kilograms.
In November, opening price and closing price for Au99.95 were respectively 102.18 yuan and 105.40 yuan. The difference between weighted average price of 103.95 and the international real time price ranged from -0.33 yuan to 0.16 yuan. The weighted average price for platinum was 208.08 yuan, 6.6 yuan more than last month.
Delivered gold volume was 11,999 kilogram, 3.16 percent lower than last month, while the delivered platinum volume was 1,112 kilograms, 55.09 percent higher than last month.
The number of SGE client registered a growth of 21, reaching a total of 447 at the end of November. The trading among banks accounted for 44.89 percent of the total volume.
